New England Web site FAQs
Cancellations,
Refunds & Rescheduling
Reservations Do I need
a reservation to skydive? ·
It's recommended, but walk-ins are always welcome. Scheduled students
take priority over walk-ins, so it's a good idea to call first to see
if we will have time for walk-ins. How
far in advance should I schedule my skydive? ·
We recommend scheduling about 2 to 3 days in advance, for 3 or more people
1 to 2 weeks, but call 1-800-UGO-JUMP for availability. We may have openings
for you to jump today! How
do I make a reservation to skydive? ·
Just call us at 1-800-UGO-JUMP! We will take a non-refundable deposit
of $75 for each jumper and put you into one of our regularly scheduled
classes. ·
We have scheduled classes every day of the week. Our tandem classes are
at 9 am, 11 am and 1 pm Monday through Friday, and at 8 am, 9am, 11am,
1pm, and 3pm on Saturday and Sunday. AFF classes start at 9am Monday through
Friday and 8am on Sunday. We also have a very popular Friday night / Saturday
morning combination that starts at 7 pm Friday and resumes on Saturday
at 8 am. Many people in this class choose to camp out Friday night and
enjoy our world famous bonfire and nightlife! Do
I need reservations to camp out? ·
If you bring your own tent, you do not need reservations. Check in at
the office and we will show you where to set up your tent and where the
showers are located. Reservations are recommended for the quest-houses,
however. We will take a refundable $20 key deposit which you will get
back when you return the key. Guest-houses are $15pp/night. Tenting is
$5.00pp/night. First
Time Skydivers What
do I need to do to skydive? ·
It's as easy as making a phone call! Call us at 1-800-UGO-JUMP
and we will take your name, address, phone number and a non-refundable
$75 deposit. On the day of your jump, bring your ID, comfortable clothes
(we will provide you with a jumpsuit), shoes (not sandals) and some extra
cash for food, video, tips for your instructors, t-shirts, etc. Tandem
jump weight limit - 250lbs. AFF weight limit - 220lbs. I've
never skydived before, do I have to do a tandem jump? ·
No you do not have to do a tandem jump your first time. You may do an
Accelerated Freefall jump course and jump solo your first time. See the
AFF description for more details. What
do I need to do to become a certified skydiver? ·
To become a skydiver certified by the United
States Parachute Association (USPA), you need to go through the AFF
student program, and have a minimum of 25 freefall skydives. How
much does it cost to get certified? ·
You will first need to go through our AFF program and complete a minimum
of 25 freefall jumps. The total cost is about the same as one college
course. Please check our PRICES page for more
details. After you are certified, you can jump anywhere in the world for
only $15-25! Can
I do a tandem jump at night or in a competition? ·
No, you must be a certified skydiver to participate in night jumps or
competitions. Safety ·
Your safety is our top priority. All of our student parachutes are equipped
with a computerized AAD (Automatic Activation Device), called a CYPRES
(CYbernetic Parachute RElease System). Although it is the skydiver's responsibility
to deploy their parachute, the AAD is designed to activate the parachute
automatically should the skydiver be incapable to do so. All of our skydiving
instructors have undergone rigorous training and national USPA certification.
We are proud to be a United States Parachute Association (USPA) enhanced
group member drop zone; we strictly adhere to all FAA and USPA guidelines
on safety. The United States Parachute Association (USPA) keeps detailed
safety records and is a great resource to check out if you are concerned
abou the safety of skydiving -- http://www.uspa.org/about/page2/relative_safety.htm Groups How
big of a group can you accommodate? ·
We accommodate groups of up to 70+ people! For large groups (10 or more
jumpers) please call at least 2 weeks ahead of time to hold your spots
in class. ·
Yes, see our pricing section for AFF and tandem
group rates. How
many people can jump at one time / I want to jump with my friend - can
we both be on the same plane? ·
Anywhere from 1 to 5 tandems will be on each plane load. We cannot guarantee
that any group will be able to get on the same plane but we will try our
best. Will
I be able to see my friend in freefall? ·
No you will not be able to see other tandems in freefall. To ensure everyone's
safety, our instructors will only exit the plane after the previous skydiver
is a safe distance away. Under canopy, however, you will be able to see
other skydivers under their parachutes and you can even hear them clearly. Video
and Stills Package Can
my friend and I be on the same video? ·
One person's freefall will be on each video. However, footage and stills
can usually be taken of groups or couples on the ground, in the plane
and after your jump. Just ask your videographer. Can
I buy just the still photos or just the video? ·
The videographer who will jump with you has both a stills camera and a
video camera attached to his or her helmet, so it is a package. Weather What
if it rains on the day I'm scheduled to jump? ·
We will never cancel a class, so always come and get trained. If the weather
does not permit safe jumping, we will give you a rain check that is good
for 2 years. The
weather wasn't good on the day I was supposed to make my skydive. What
do I do now? ·
Since you have already been trained, you should have received a rain check.
You can call us anytime to schedule your jump and you do not have to sign
up for a class time. Just let us know when you want to come back! Cancellations,
Refunds & Rescheduling ·
There are no refunds for any reason. However, all deposits and payments
are good for 2 years and are transferable. In other words, if you cannot
jump for any reason, you can transfer your deposit or payment to anybody
else who can jump. What
is your cancellation policy? ·
We ask that you give us at least one week to cancel or change a reservation.
Canceling or rescheduling less than one week before your class date will
result in a $35 administrative fee. Please understand that our instructors
have been scheduled to accommodate your reservation. Miscellaneous How
old do I have to be to skydive? ·
You must be at least 18 years old. Parents cannot sign for jumpers under
18 years of age under any circumstances. We have no upper age limit. You
are never too old to experience the thrill of skydiving! An 80th birthday
is as good of a reason to skydive as an 18th birthday is! ·
Ask your instructor. Can
I drink alcoholic beverages at any time on the drop zone? ·
No!! Alcoholic beverages are not permitted at any location on the drop
zone by anyone while skydiving is taking place, even if you are not jumping.
After the last load of the day has left the ground, you are welcome to
enjoy any frosty beverage of your choice, providing you are over the legal
drinking age.
